Our client are part of a major European logistics and distribution company, supplying into some of the largest UK organisations within the transport industry.

They are currently seeking a buyer to join their busy team, with the emphasis on new business sourcing.

The main aim of the role is to identify sources of supply both in the UK and abroad that are best able to meet the customer requirements and fulfill the obligations of the contract.
You will actively source and engage with vendors to seek out opportunities for new products and/ or services and initiate the development of these suppliers.

The post holder will be responsible for ensuring the best cost, quality and delivery is achievable with new and existing suppliers by building strong relationships.
You will understand the contractual negotiations required and attend bid start up meetings providing the necessary information required.

Manage and monitor the sourcing of all allocated bids through SAP, CRM and other business systems and processes.

The ideal applicant will have experience in a large organisation and had exposure to working with global suppliers.
CIPS qualification is preferred, with a full understanding of the tools and process' required to carry out effective purchasing.
