Chase and Holland are delighted to be working with an award winning FMCG business based in Nottingham as they look to appoint a Buyer. It is essential that you have either worked within the Food sector before or have good experience of buying from Far East suppliers.
The ideal candidate will be someone who has ideally 2 years buying experience in a wholesale environment or who has regularly worked with suppliers in the Far East. If you have worked in a category environment, that would be ideal.
This challenging role really does offer a real opportunity to make your mark within a growing company.
Day to day responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining key relationships with suppliers
- Negotiating prices with suppliers for new and existing products
- Ensuring goods are delivered on time
- Being responsible for range reviews, promotional activity, negotiating terms, stock availability and stockholding within defined categories
- Reviewing sales to interpret customer needs and react to any changes.
Who should apply?
The right person will possess a strong ability to control and deliver KPIs; have the ability to work with data, analyse promotions and work on range reviews; be able to prioritise, demonstrating first class organisational and time management skills; have good commercial awareness, creative, organised with the ability to multi-task.
Salary as always is dependent on experience. Other good benefits accompany the role. It’s a Monday – Friday role working circa 45 hours. Start times can be flexible. Free parking is also available.
