An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our client, an award winning innovative luggage and travel goods business, as a Buyer / Negotiator.
Previous experience in Buying is not essential but you must be able to demonstrate the hunger and curiosity to succeed in a role where negotiating with suppliers is key to success. Additionally, you will need to have high level mathematics/numeracy skills and a logical approach.
The role will involve reviewing and analysing the details of new sales orders and creating a negotiation strategy to ensure best possible commercial terms and prices, whilst maintaining excellent relationships with suppliers. There may also be the opportunity to travel to the far east.
The ability to analyse information quickly and to work under pressure in a fast-paced and busy environment is essential. You must hold a minimum of GCSE Maths at grade B or above, be highly organised and able to use MS Office packages, especially Excel and Outlook and manage a high volume of emails to negotiate with the company’s China colleagues and suppliers.
As part of the interview process candidates will be required to complete tests to demonstrate their ability to do complex mathematical calculations, including profit margin & currency conversion.
