Our Client is looking for a motivated individual to work as a Buyer and join their workforce. They are an Internal Fit Out company that specialise in Partitioning, Suspended Ceilings and Specialist Joinery that is based on the Medway City Estate in Rochester, Kent.
You will be working on projects from start to finish, that include sport centres, hospitals, new build, industrial and commercial properties with a value of up to £2 million.
The right candidate would ideally need to have experience in buying materials within the construction industry, have a good knowledge of construction materials and preferably have existing relationships with major building merchants across the UK.
As a Buyer you will be required to assist with the purchase of building products for their Internal Fit Out projects throughout the UK. You MUST have a competent understanding of Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel and have a good telephone manner.
Your duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Obtaining competitive quotes for materials.
Support Contracts team with all procurement activities.
Organise plant hire for projects.
Liaising with suppliers and site managers.
Schedule material requirements using construction drawings.
Raising purchase orders for all materials.
Chasing orders to ensure materials are delivered on time.
Keeping up to date daily on site labour records.
Managing subcontractors performance.
Dealing with invoice queries.
Attend occasional site visits.
Own transport is essential as public transport is limited in our area.
Good A-Levels or GCSE would be ideal.
Purchasing experience: 2 years
Construction: 2 year
Required licence or certification:
A driving licence is needed for this role.
Our Client is offering a competitive salary of £21,000 depending on experience.
