  1. Recruiting more franchisees globally;

  2. Leveraging the opportunities to increase new business from Referrals and drive up more Re-Book business, specifically from first time bookers; and

  3. Driving sales through the Company’s in-house booking system Phenix and specifically it’s directly contracted product.

Brief Overview of the role

Corporate Travel is one of the fastest growing areas within the Travel Counsellors group and caring for its Travel Counsellors and clients is at the core of the business.

Due to continued success Travel Counsellors requires a Corporate Travel Director to take our global proposition to the next level. This is a key role as we continue to develop our corporate travel business, attracting new Travel Counsellors, winning new contracts, constantly refining our value proposition, increasing revenue and improving margin.

Main Responsibilities

The Corporate Sales Director will drive a challenging agenda to substantially increase our market share in this growing sector.

Key focus:

  • Developing a business plan for the growth and development of our Corporate Travel business

  • Leading the strategic positioning of the business to attract more corporate travel agents to join us

  • Championing the Company’s business model and value proposition to ensure the agents maximize their sales and margin.

  • Advising on the development of the Company’s commercial relationships and content in its in-house booking system Phenix

  • Working closely with the board of Directors to make sure growth plans are achieved
  • Advise and contribute to the development of training plans and content to ensure the effectiveness of the Company’s corporate business assets

  • Building a robust new business development process and team to enable the business to pro-actively search and win new accounts that fit our ideal customer profile

  • Managing a team of business development and account management professionals
  • Collaborating with the Global Sales Director, Head of Marketing and Director of Procurement to develop and deliver improved sales and marketing assets

  • Leveraging the corporate travel story and assets in each Country we operate in to build an international corporate business

  • Ensuring we develop a digital roadmap and assets for corporate travel that complement our relationship and referral based business model

  • Promoting and advocating our brand and company values internally and externally

  • Leading the brand within the consumer and travel trade media and maximizing PR and marketing opportunities to generate recruitment and business leads.

Summary of Key Attributes and Qualifications

  • Proven track record of success and experience in Corporate/Business Travel, ideally with experience in the SME market.

  • You will have several years proven leadership experience and a demonstrable track record gained within a similar position

  • Outstanding reputation within the UK corporate travel marketplace with a reputation for integrity, professionalism and commitment to customers.

  • A demonstrable track record of building relationships with relevant travel suppliers including airlines and hotel groups

  • Track record of developing and delivering business plans to budget

  • A confident and articulate communicator, a people-person who takes accountability for your targets

  • A confident leader, able to inspire colleagues and continually improve output

  • Flexible in terms of working hours / time zones

  • You love building relationships, you share our values and you believe in the power of a relational business model.

  • Deep understanding of the trends in the business travel market place including developments in technology, MI and other tools.

  • Comfortable in front of a TV camera

  • Ideally experience of other international markets.
