The National Centre for Excellence in the Teaching of Mathematics (NCETM), working alongside, and leading, England's 35 Maths Hubs, aims to ensure that all teachers of mathematics have access to high quality professional development opportunities. This is a fantastic time for 2 professional and confident Business Support officers to join us as we enter a period of substantial growth and expansion.
These exciting new roles will form part of our Business Support function. Based in our Sheffield city centre office with some travel to our Bristol head office and occasionally to other locations, you will provide a professional and robust administrative support service to colleagues in the NCETM.
The roles are initially funded until July 2019, with the possibility of extension beyond that date.
The main purpose of this role is to support the delivery areas within the NCETM family of programmes as well as working collaboratively with the team on national activities.
You will provide administrative support which will include, but not limited to, organising meeting and venues, supporting team meetings by attending and documenting them, ensuring the strand team plan is maintained, preparing and distributing papers and resources for meetings and events and preparing communications to Maths Hubs, Schools and other Key Clients. Another key area of the role is to provide support to any projects by coordinating and updating documentation and reports. You will also support the purchasing requirements for the business area by managing purchase orders and tracking budgets.
Along with experience in a similar role within an administration and/or project office environment, you will have a good level of education and the ability to work in a fast-paced business support role.
Your attention to detail and time keeping skills will be highly utilised in this busy team as you prepare required documentation and plan/manage events effectively. Additionally, you will be keen to contribute to the continuous improvement of processes with the support of the Business Support Manager.
You will be and effective and confident communicator with people at all levels as you support the NCETM teams. You will be confident dealing with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and handling data in a sensitive and confidential manner.
A pro-active approach is essential, as is the ability to work flexibly and responsively to changing business requirements as you will be required to work flexibly and willing to support your co-workers in the business support team, ensuring projects and activities across the NCETM programme have extra support where required.
Any experience you have with project management or coordination will be advantageous, along with any experience within marketing and/or communications.
