You will work within a team of systems/business analysts to deliver strategically important business intelligence solutions by ensuring that business needs are clearly defined and documented.
You will add vision and challenge to user requirements to ensure that maximum flexibility, capability and reusability are incorporated into solutions.
You will ensure that all BI developments conform to the strategic MI framework and ensure that proposed BI solutions meet commercial needs. You will ensure that testing, training and implementation of the BI capability are given to the relevant business area.
What you will be doing
You will be required to understand BI requirements across Airline, Tour Operator, Retail and other key areas of the business.
You will work with the business stakeholders to define, agree, document and review the BI requirements along with the business processes.
You will provide a high level of technical and specialist business analysis input to ensure that the BI Solutions meet business requirements by planning and structuring high-level BI requirements into deliverable solutions. You will do this by facilitating and running workshops to determine requirements. You will also provide input into, and contribute to technical architecture and systems design.
You will also work with systems integration testing team to ensure relevant and adequate testing is undertaken and co-ordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) with end users.
You will manage and prioritise your own workload for the analysis of strategically important BI projects within set objectives and define methodology.
You will manage the design and delivery of business intelligence tools such as Business Objects and maybe required to provide assistance with complex reporting requirements.
What we are looking for
• Thorough understanding with proven significant skills and several years experience in a BI software/business analysis role.
• High level of knowledge of the specifics of BI systems & services.
• Understanding of all stages in a development project lifecycle.
• Experience in a commercial environment desirable, ideally travel or airline.
• Aptitude for complex logical thinking which is effectively harnessed through learned IT techniques and tools.
• Aptitude for & experience of applying analysis methodologies and techniques to the specialised MI environment. e.g. data flow diagrams.
• Financially literate – preferably with an accountancy qualification.
• Knowledge & experience of IT system capabilities and how they can provide data to the data warehouse.
