Our client is a technology company based in the beautiful Warwickshire countryside. They design, build and market a simple, web-based assessment tool that helps local authorities get the right support to people at the right time. The system provides objective evidence to support decision-making, taking the guesswork out of support planning. Our client system supports social care teams to empower older adults and adults with learning disabilities to be more independent. While most of their revenue comes from the 86% of UK local authorities who use our client, there is a consumer product that offers reassurance to those caring for family members with dementia or a learning disability.

Position: Strategic Business Manager
Location: South West- Field based with the expectation of 4 days seeing clients and one admin day
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent
Salary: £30,000 - £39,000 pa, bonus up to £20,000 uncapped plus Company Car provided

About the role:

The Business Manager is the key to the company contact, with existing customers, in a specific geographically territory. The position works very closely with the Head of UK Development, Account Managers and Customer Support teams to enhance all aspects of the Company’s relationships within the industry. This role exists to promote usage and maximise the benefits of using our client for customers. Regular system usage ensures maximum benefits for the customer and ensures prompt renewal of subscriptions. High usage also creates a need for revival of any lapsed subscriptions and further purchases by the customer. The Strategic Business Manager is expected to support the Head of UK development with high volume sales opportunities within their customer base.


- Networking with Director, Head of Service and Commissioner level contacts to undercover new market potentials
- Arrange quarterly account review meeting with senior management
- Audit usage to understand strengths, weaknesses and likely cause of usage blocks
- Embed protocols with customers to measure the economic and care benefits derived from our client
- Work with customers to create and implement policies and protocols for effective usage
- Assist customers to set realistic SMART objectives for all projects and processes
- Create and develop suitable training and support packages to meet identified customer needs
- Deliver clear training sessions where necessary
- Support customers with non-clinical chart interpretation
- Motivate customers staff to see the benefits of using our client within assessment
- Make proposals for specific services to Commissioner-level contacts to achieve agreed goals
- Support the Head of UK Development to agree strategic cost saving goals with top-level management
- Manage time to achieve personal objectives
- Build strong relationships with account managers ensuring client strategies are correctly deployed and managed
- Arrange and allocate other resources to achieve customer objectives
- Create and maintain customer plans to reflect current knowledge and potential
- Complete administration promptly to ensure CRM is always up to date
- Review personal performance and provide forecasts and action plans to Manager
- Maintain a systematic review of performance against objectives and targets
- Manage expenditure to minimum levels
- Plan journeys to minimise average miles per call
- Report weekly and monthly on business performance

About you:

- Good level of commercial understanding
- Good understanding of public sector structures and processes
- Excellent oral communication skills
- Strong presentation technique suitable for small & large groups (up to 30 people)
- Ability to plan in twelve-month horizons
- Flexible to work away from home as the need requires
- Full UK driving licence
