Monarch Education are working with a trust in the South West who have the need for a short-term business manager. This role is ideal for an experienced business manager who has recently taken a break or would like to work in a new school.
The business manager role contributes to the overall organisation and management of the school and is a valuable part of any school senior leadership team. The business manager looks after the school support services.
Your role will include, but may not be limited to
*Ensuring the school's finances comply with Financial Regulations
*Maintaining accurate records
*Monitoring the school's cash handling, and making sure that the school follows policies for collection, handling and recording
*You may have to ensure that school holds appropriate insurance cover and other licences
*Create and present reports to the Head Teacher regarding school spend
*Personnel Management, such as maintaining confidential staff records, contracts of employment, DBS and medical checks.
*Health and Safety, reviewing policies alongside additional members of staff, including catering arrangements and fire alarm tests
*Facilities management, including general and planned maintenance, cleaning and arranging general maintenance for the building and grounds alongside the caretakers
There may be line management responsibilities for finance and/or administration staff, depending on the school set up.
You will be expected to
*participate in Staff Training Days and other training opportunities as required.
*comply with all financial, safety, data protection, IT software licensing, child protection and equal opportunity requirements and any other relevant guidelines.
*undertake any other reasonable duties as may be agreed from time to time with the Head Teacher.
The ideal candidate for this role will
Have relevant experience working as a business manager within a school or educational institution
Have experience managing a budget
Have experience multi taking and taking responsibility for teams with varying needs
Be flexible and willing to take on duties as needed
Fast thinking and able to hit the ground running
A confident decision maker who can work independently when required
Line management experience is desirable
