Do you have what it takes to fuel the growth ambitions of both new and established Welsh businesses? If so, you'll be delighted to hear that there is an opportunity for you to join the team at Business Wales, where you'll be supporting organisations across North West Wales.

Who will I be working with?

Business Wales provides first class business support to Welsh SMEs on behalf of the Welsh Government, funded by the European Regional Development Fund and delivered by Growth Partnership Wales (GPW), a partnership of Business in Focus, Antur Teifi and Serco.

So, what will the role of Business Growth Advisor entail?

Reporting to the Advisory Team Manager, as a Business Growth Advisor you'll be visiting and working closely with new and established businesses on a one to one basis, utilising your significant experience and knowledge to undertake specific growth diagnostics and develop action plans to identify key issues and priorities.

In addition, you'll be recommending third party organisations (public and private sector) and utilising support from other specialist strands available in the Business Wales service. These include International Trade and Superfast Broadband Optimisation.

What will I need in order to be considered for this Business Growth Advisor role?

  • Either have experience of running / managing a business, or have experience of delivering general business advice to a diverse portfolio of businesses
  • Experience of compiling complex business plans and cash flow forecasts
  • A developed network of contacts in both Public and Private sector that is effective in supporting achievement of growth objectives
  • Solid understanding of the needs and issues impacting SMEs in Wales, the economy in Wales and wider influences in the UK
  • Superb communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with people at all levels
  • IT literacy with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • A valid UK driving licence

Ideally, you'll hold an introductory certificate in accountancy / finance, (e.g. AAT level 1 or equivalent), although not essential. However, the successful candidate will be required and supported to attain such formal qualification within the first year of appointment.

What will I receivein return?

Salary: From £34,500 per annum, negotiable dependent on level of experience and qualifications

Additional benefits: Flexible working scheme, 23 days annual leave plus bank holidays, pension and free parking

Hours of Work: Full time, 37.5 hours per week

Contract type: Permanent

Location: Field based visiting businesses across North West Wales (primarily in Anglesey / Gwynedd). However, you'll be required to visit the offices in St Asaph (Denbighshire, North Wales) at least once a week.
