Our client is in the latter stages of an existing project and are now looking to recruit a contract IT Project Manager on an initial 6 months basis.
The organisation has a programme of software development and systems integration projects involving a mixture of custom and off-the-shelf packages. This role will be business facing and is required to swiftly drive the projects that are currently underway to completion.
This is a very hands on role, collaborating with all teams and managers to ensure the projects that are currently underway are finalised.
*Work within the IT team to drive to completion a programme of software changes and systems implementations.
*Own the programme plan and define, schedule and deliver ongoing initiatives as requested by the business owners.
*Understand, prioritise and de-conflict overlapping software deliveries and scope.
*Clearly and regularly communicate the programme status and risks to the directors and other colleagues.
*Employ technical expertise to validate work estimates, suggest alternative solutions, and actively manage software development efforts.
*Take an active part in quality assuring new deliveries by defining and executing high level user acceptance tests, and authorising releases.
*Highly organised experience IT Project Manager, technically adept and used to 'rolling up sleeves'
*Proven ability to work under pressure
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills with both technical and non-technical staff and providers, including board level decision makers
*Persuasive and collaborative approach
*Good understanding of the software development and roll out lifecycle
*Knowledge of modern software programming technologies (e.g. .net framework, java, source code control, XML, REST, and HTTP) preferably gained as a code contributor in previous software development post.
*Experience of project managing external and internal teams that use the Microsoft development toolset and .net architecture
*Experience of team leadership in a software development or maintenance environment, Scrum Master, Product owner or other agile role.
