Business Development Senior Executive

Working with a market facing Business Development Senior Manager and Partners you will manage a coordinated approach to corporate business sectors activities, business development and pitch/proposals for the generation of new fees from both existing clients and new prospects. The successful individual will need to communicate with senior members of the group. The corporate group has grown 16% in revenue and has ambitious plans to increase year on year requiring a Business Development professional to drive this.

Responsibilities:

Markets

Business Development

  • drive sector initiatives within our strategic sectors

  • undertakes analysis of the market and client base of a location/ market group, utilising databases such as Fame, Market IQ and IBIS world

  • supports the BD manager/office partners in creation and maintenance of sales pipelines using Interaction, focus on sales pipeline management or targeting meetings with partners and teams

  • manage proposal tenders

  • draws together local market intelligence (LSE updates, Linkedinetc) and liaises with the BD manager/office sales partner regarding target information to support the sales process

  • proactively setting-up business development meetings with clients, active targets and intermediaries

  • undertakes follow-up calls to networking and marketing activity to generate appropriate meetings with clients, active targets and intermediaries

  • identifies and advises partners of opportunities for new business or cross-selling

  • where deemed appropriate, attends new business meetings with partners/ directors

  • supports in delivering new projects. Has a regular contact program in place that records are updated using the firm's sales management and CRM system (InterAction)

  • where deemed appropriate, complete pitch de-briefs in line with firms standards or ensure pitch de-briefs are undertaken in a timely fashion

  • proactive development of a personal network of intermediary and business introducer contacts in a local area

  • will attend networking events to promote the firm

  • will drive cross line of services opportunities

  • point of contact for corporate marketing team

Marketing

  • supports the BD manager/office sales partner in the delivering the firm-wide objectives and rolling-out national marketing and BD initiatives supports local implementation of advertising/sponsorship/PR opportunities as deemed appropriate by line manager

  • liaises with National Marketing to support campaigns and provide communication to Corporate Business on upcoming plans

  • ensures adherence to compliance and national marketing and sales protocols

  • supports the Partners and BD manager in the creation of local marketing plans and campaigns, including local or regional events

People

  • actively participates in sector meetings (Property, Financial Services and service line meetings) to support the work winners in driving activity

  • works collaboratively across all areas within the team to maximise our contribution to the firm and to clients

  • personable and credible both internally and externally

  • confident presentation skills

Operations and results

  • provides accurate management information and sales reports on a timely basis to both Corporate Business Lead and BD Manager as required

  • can work effectively in a target driven environment reporting to multiple stakeholders

  • will be expected to generate new business meetings and opportunities

  • chance to develop career further in a large national professional services firm
