gap personnel are recruiting for a Business Development Representative based in Yeovil. The annual salary is £18,500 with an OTE of £25,000+pa.

Our client are in the manufacturing and distribution industry and sell an extensive range of products. You will build strong relationships with existing clients and account manage them as well as building new business. You will work in an open plan friendly office, building key customer relationships, identify business opportunities, negotiate and close business deals and maintain extensive knowledge of current market conditions.

Job Purpose:

Existing Business Development

  • Work towards individual, departmental and business targets and objectives

  • To retain, develop and grow existing accounts in your territory by presenting products, offers and services to customers through excellent communication and listening skills

  • Executing excellence and call objectives when working through call cycles with the aim to develop your existing customers and customer retention

  • To translate, diagnose and action all customer request in order to achieve total customer satisfaction

  • Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators.

  • Track and record activity on accounts and help to close deals to meet these targets.

  • Work with technical staff and other internal colleagues to meet customer needs

  • New Business Development

  • Prospect for potential new clients and turn this into increased business.

  • Lead generation - Cold call as appropriate within your market or geographic area to ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities.

  • Excellent communication and listening skills

  • Identify potential clients, and the decision makers

  • Research and build relationships with new clients.

  • Set call objectives, plan approaches and pitches.

  • Participate in pricing the solution/service.

  • Handle objections by clarifying, emphasizing agreements and working through differences to a positive conclusion.

  • Business and Market Acumen

  • Benefits:

  • Commission: OTE £25,000+PA

  • Hours: 8.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday with a one-hour unpaid lunch break

  • Holiday: 20 days, increasing by one day for every complete year of service on the anniversary of starting to a maximum of 25 days after 5 years

  • Benefit: life cover of 2 x annual salary but to increase to 4 x from 1st Aug
