The role
We have a rare and exciting career opportunity for an experienced Business Development Manager to join our information business, offering B2B events, market intelligence, strategic consultancy and corporate memberships.
You will be responsible for generating sales revenue across our portfolio of market intelligence products with an emphasis on market reports and strategic consulting.
This is an inside sales position, but you will have the opportunity to travel internationally for approximately 5-10% of your time.
Key duties of the Business Development Manager includes:
- Client Engagement: Proactively identify and engage with potential clients to understand their market research needs and challenges.
- Solution Selling: Present a comprehensive portfolio of market intelligence services to existing and new clients. Tailoring and scoping solutions to meet clients specific requirements.
- Relationship Building: Developing and maintaining strong, long-term client relationships, also acting as a trusted advisor in market data and intelligence.
- Market Insight: Stay informed about industry trends, competitors and market dynamics to effectively position our services
- Collaboration: Work closely with our research team, gather client feedback to contribute to continual improvement and act as the internal voice of the customer in ongoing market research requirements and delivery of materials
- Targets and Reporting: Meet and exceed sales targets, regularly reporting sales activities, progress and challenges.
- Lead generating and prospecting: You will be given hot leads and a number of lead sources will be provided. You will also be responsible for updating and enhancing lead and prospect lists, ensuring contact data in CRM is up to date. You will also managing the entire sales cycle from first point of contact to sale and delivery.
- Negotiation - Negotiate terms and contracts to achieve mutually beneficial agreements

Qualifications and experience
- Proven 4+ years’ experience in B2B sales, preferably within a market research, market data or related industry
- Results-driven, goal oriented with a track record of meeting and exceeding targets
- Ability to understand complex client requirements and translate to both off the shelf and tailored solutions
- Telephone sales experience is essential with a proven track record of hitting targets
- Bachelor’s Degree in business, marketing or related field would be ideal
