We are looking for a Business Development person to research potential new business, build solid relationships, and book meetings for the Directors with corporate prospects. This is a new position within an existing team which is needed due to growth and expansion.

Our client is a waste company, offering environmentally positive waste disposal to their clients. They are an award winning and industry leading team with expertise and experience in the industry. The company has continued to grow at an amazing rate. They do not see this as a full time role so are looking for an individual who has the relevant experience but only wants to work part-time.

The wider team are a lively and friendly bunch of people who work together really well to provide the very best service to their customers. Going the extra mile is standard practice and bespoke solutions are created whenever needed. Everyone is friendly and passionate about the company and its successes.

This role is a new business role, but NOT a "make 120 calls a day" role. We are looking for someone with a more sophisticated and targetted approach, and someone with skills and experience in client management and building ling term relationships.

On a day to day basis you will be generating new business by making introductory calls and emails to potential customers. You will follow up enquiries made to the company by phone and through the website. You will also have a list of warm leads to go back to. There are ample opportunities in the market place, and this role can be very rewarding. The main emphasis will be on building solid relationships with future clients that will enable contracts to move forward. This role would be ideally suited to an experienced professional who knows what leads are worthwhile. Although waste industry experience is not needed, you will need experience in building strong networks.

You will need to be organised and able to manage your workload to ensure that nothing is missed. You will have to liaise with internal departments to get things done, so diplomacy is a must. You will be natural and comfortable on the phone, and have a good standard of grammar and spelling to ensure professionally written emails are sent.

This role will use your strong and friendly communication skills, your organisation and your time management. You will be proactive and reactive in equal measure. This position will have a bonus scheme attached, but as the sales cycle is long this will be based on general progress and performance as well as results. The scheme is currently being finalised but can be discussed at interview.

Based in the centre of Hertford, the offices are smart and provide a comfortable working environment. Parking is paid for by the company.

The salary for this role will be £22,000 to £28,000 (pro-rata), depending upon your experience, plus the quarterly bonus plan.
