Business Development Manager

My client, a leading Financial Services Provider are currently recruiting for Business Development Manager’s based in Harrow, Middlesex due to a rapid growth and new plans to expand the team.

The role will involve building new client relationships whilst servicing and strengthening existing connections.

The company also consists of a payments and processing team, customer service department, marketing team as well as a compliance and legal team. A certain level of maturity is required in this role and the person must understand the demands of the industry they are working in. Training is provided on our products but the individual must have a good track record in sales.

This is a wide-ranging role designed for someone who has an in-depth understanding of how to build new client relationships and maintain them. The successful candidate will be left to manage themselves and their own workload with the responsibility to work as an individual. The individual will have to be able to work well with other team leaders across different departments and will be office based.


Duties will include the following: -

  • New business acquisition

  • Booking and attending own meetings.

  • Hosting client events at venues

  • Building a client portfolio and generating an income for the business.

  • Managing the sales process from start to finish.

  • Actively contribute to the development of the business.

  • Attending monthly sales meetings

You will be:

  • The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate an ability to work closely with the leadership team in a complex and challenging environment.

  • Proven track record of gaining credibility and influencing at all levels in a sales environment.

  • Demonstrate sufficient breadth of business development experience within the industry and client relationship management over the last 3 years.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to multitask and manage conflicting priorities, whilst working in a demanding environment under considerable time pressure

Desirable skills
  • While direct working knowledge in the payroll industry is not essential, some understanding and previous experience is highly desirable.

  • We want a person who can hit the ground running and come into the business with experience and contacts behind them.

  • They will need to have proven track record of developing business and getting results.

  • Must have a driving license as client meetings can be based outside London.
