Business Development Manager

Job Purpose:

Ashberry Recruitment are currently looking to source a Business Development Manager for our well-respected client based in Skipton.

The successful candidate will provide support to the Commercial Manager across all aspects of company profitability including sales, client retention, supplier relationships and business development. To be the key point of contact between Comply Direct and prospective new clients, developing enquiries, uncovering new opportunities from all possible sales routes and managing them through to completion to ensure that company sales targets are achieved in line with growth plans.

Key Role Responsibilities

 Work closely with the sales and marketing team to achieve sales targets

  • Undertake market research to identify non-compliant (free rider) prospect companies
  • Make contact with non-compliant (free-rider) companies to inform them about relevant legislation by phone, email, letter and in person where required
  • Identify and manage sales opportunities across the Comply Direct service range including new members and consultancy revenue
  • Conduct sales visits to local companies where an opportunity has been qualified
  • Positively demonstrate the company services to prospective members via sales presentations, webinars, skype calls etc
  • Help to prepare internal sales reports, pipeline and forecasting using salesforce and maintain the accuracy of the salesforce database
  • Secure meetings with key prospects for the Commercial Manager
  • Be the first point of contact for incoming sales enquiries and work the leads though to closing the business, involving the Commercial Manager with key opportunities and Tier A/B
  • Establish suitable suppliers and partners for the needs of Comply Direct customers and develop profitable supplier and partner relationships and agreements
  • Monitor competitor activity and share competitor information with the team, using knowledge to pro-actively shape Comply Directs offering to keep ahead of the curve.
  • Support with customer account management and develop cross sell opportunities with existing clients
  • Provide administrative support as required and handle incoming waste material collection enquiries from non-members
  • Help prepare customer tender responses / proposals
  • Help with the identification and development of new market opportunities
  • Ensure the sales process is efficient and effective putting the customer first at all times
  • Attend suitable networking events to represent Comply Direct and generate referrals and partnership opportunities
  • Other duties as assigned

Essential Skills/Qualifications:

  • Fully adept with Microsoft Office packages including Outlook, Excel and Word
  • Proven sales track record and comfortable working under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Highly organised and conscientious approach
  • Positive, enthusiastic outlook with a very persistent and resilient approach
  • Team orientated
  • Quick to learn and able to think on your feet
  • To be able to quickly grasp technical legislation
  • An ability to develop dialogue with prospect companies and to build strong relationships
  • Excellent telephone skills
  • An ability to prioritise and multi-task
