This is a chance for you to join an innovative and expanding environmental engineering business; going through an exciting period of growth, they are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to focus on sales and revenue growth. Working in a field based position, you will be tasked with a large territory covering north of the Midlands (Birmingham to Scottish Border). You will show a proactive approach to actively service and grow the territory.
The purpose of the role is to actively prospect for new clients by; networking, utilising social media streams and marketing campaigns, cold calling, use of lead management systems and collating market & competitor intelligence. By developing deep relationships with new and existing customers you will ensure maximum penetration and utilisation of relationships by presenting new solutions and services to clients. You will build relations with clients, across all levels, and develop a solid strategy and action plan for your defined territory.
In order to be successful in your approach you will proactively research the regional market, developing strategic plans in order to deliver overall company growth within a defined region. Working closely with your accounts, you will identify profitable customers and key decision makers, specifically targeting these to make appointments and lead meetings. You will work closely with other stakeholders to prepare effective and individualised 'pitches' for each potential client. Showing resilience and understanding, you will handle client objections and lead negotiations on new contracts.
Using an analytical and forward-thinking approach, you will provide monthly reports on market trends, customers and competitors; utilising this information to forecast future business accurately to management. In addition, you will work closely with the wider business to develop new markets and services to enhance the marketing strategy.
Due to the requirements of this position, it is essential that you carry significant experience in a business development role within the construction industry, or selling into the construction industry, but this must be service sales. Experience of social housing, facilities management and maintenance will also be considered. You must show a proven track record of building regional strategy and action plans.
In regards to education, it is essential that you carry a degree level or equivalent accreditation - ideally within a related sector.
As this role is focussed on territory growth, it is essential that you bring a 'hunter' mentality, passionate about driving sales and maximising revenue. Overall, you must be creative, accountable and show willingness to 'go the extra mile' to secure business.
You will receive a competitive salary of up to £30,000 - £35,000 per annum, with additional bonus structure. Due to the field-based nature of the role, you will also receive a company car, laptop, phone etc.
This role is a permanent contract and your hours will be 8.30am - 5.30pm Monday to Friday.
