Business Development Manager

Based within the Thames Valley

£40,000 basic double OTE

ROLE This is an opportunity for an experienced and highly successful Solutions Sales executive, with a proven track record of selling technology systems and services.

The Business Development Manager is an out and out 'hunter’, whose core responsibility is to identify and close business with new organisations.

It is critical that the candidate has a track record for understanding the clients’ business, and being able to put the company value proposition in that context.

This position reports to the Managing Director and would suit an individual who is proactive, self-directed, career orientated with the ability to manage multiple projects, multi-level selling and be able to demonstrate the use of innovative methodologies to secure major contracts.

This outstanding career opportunity involves selling the full portfolio of solutions and will appeal to high achievers who merit high earnings and aspire to a Sales Director role.

Essential Tasks

  • Cold call prospecting.

  • Effective written and digital prospecting

  • .Respond to leads generated by sales development consultants as well as self-generating leads.

  • Prospecting research and prospect qualification.

  • Effective negotiation of sales cycles and technical agreements

  • Ability to close complex deals.

  • Drive sales in order to generate revenue.

  • Build solid, lasting relationships profitable customers with potential for superior lifetime/trade value.

  • Delivery of first class customer relationship management during the sales process.

  • Use solid financial and business acumen to demonstrate the value of the proposition to the customer.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Degree educated with strong and proven sales experience in the technology sector.

  • Consultative sales approach.

  • Successful track record in B2B Solution sales.

  • Experience with technical solutions characterised by mid-long sales cycles is preferred.

  • Established business relationships with senior client executives and project influencers in the Private and Public sectors.

  • Formal sales training.

  • Executive presence and ability to work as a team player.

  • Ability to influence decision makers at the highest levels in client organizations.

  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills.

  • Knowledge of Goldmine or equivalent CRM.

  • Ability to work effectively with others in a dynamic and vibrant team environment.

  • Closing and negotiation skills.
