Salary: Up to £50,000pa
Location: Remote with internal meetings at the main office based in Maidstone, Kent
There will also be travel to other sites and client offices.
Hours of work are offered up to 37.5 hours per week, however we offer flex from first and are open to discussing your preferred working hours and pattern.

Part of the Kent Wildlife Trust Group, Wilder Carbon Ltd. is a not-for-profit market leader in the high-integrity, voluntary, nature-based carbon market with decades of collective experience delivering nature restoration and protection projects that benefit the climate, society, and the economy. Our goal is to restore at least 50k hectares of native, dynamic habitat by 2030 facilitating the avoidance or removal of a mega-tonne of carbon each year.
Wilder Carbon Ltd. facilitates the development of projects under the Wilder Carbon Standard for Nature and Climate (the Standard) and matches these to Approved Buyers and Investors, enabling scaled portfolio investment.
It is an exciting time for Wilder Carbon having proven our concept and become fully operational. We are now building an impressive portfolio of projects and a network of Approved Buyers to purchase the high-quality carbon units these projects will generate.
The role
We are seeking an accomplished and self-motivated individual to take on a key role as Business Development Manager to expand our pool of Approved Buyers and drive carbon credit sales. You'll match buyers with our validated Wilder Carbon projects, build client relationships, and contribute to our impact-driven approach.
The ideal candidate for this role will have a passion for building and managing client relationships, partnership and sales in the nature and climate space, with a track record in delivering results. You will have a strong understanding of corporate sustainability action planning and how nature-based carbon removal can form part of a wider Net Zero Strategy.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and manage Approved Buyers.
- Drive carbon credit sales by matching buyers with projects.
- Build strong client relationships.
- Understand corporate sustainability and Net Zero strategies.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager to improve sales processes.
- Innovate and adapt offerings based on market feedback.
Requirements to succeed in the role:
- 3+ years of sales experience in the nature and climate space, ideally within Carbon Markets, or Corporate Sustainability, Net Zero, Natural Capital, Green Finance, Commodity Brokerage
- Thrive in a fast-growing, entrepreneurial environment.
- Goal-oriented mindset.
- Curious, open-minded and adaptable.
- A communicator at heart - an ability to build strong and trustworthy relationships with external strategic partners as well as communicate and negotiate with diverse senior stakeholders both externally and internally.
- Ability to navigate complexity.
- Think holistically about project deliverables and buyer needs.
