Business Development Manager - Field Sales - North

Field Sales opportunity covering the Midlands and North of England, up to £40,000 base plus company car and £45-55,000 OTE. A fantastic opportunity has arisen due to company growth, to join a company selling high end bespoke surfacing solutions and machinery to a really wide customer base. Those customers include - manufacturing, sports facilities, councils, docks, facilities management, airports, retail and railway industries.

Examples of their installations are an Argos distribution centre, several Tesco warehousing facilities, Tesla Bluewater, LIDL HQ and Maserati to name but a few.

You will be supported by an Internal sales person at their head office in Portsmouth who will offer full internal sales support for you, including appointment generation, quotations and processing orders.

Reporting into the Sales and Marketing Manager you will be required to represent the company and win new business in the North of England. The region reaching from as far North as Leeds/Manchester and south as far as Banbury/Cambridge.  Due to this this role will ideally be Midlands based but any location will be considered within reason.

Role responsibilities
  • You will take ownership and accountability for delivering the territory target
  • You will be responsible for generating new business opportunities across your territory
  • Attend F2F visits as required according to customer need and required target achievement
  • Responsible for identifying product gap and active opportunities
  • Provide accurate forecast account spend annually and rolling quarterly
  • Have an active and strategic use of networking (trade shows, social media, etc)
  • You will own and manage sales pipeline, including participation in reviews as required

    Person requirements
  • You will have advanced negotiating skills
  • Have a clear communication skills
  • Able to quickly develop an in-depth knowledge of industry and key players
  • A good understanding of system processes
  • Proven experience of networking (F2F and social)
  • Excellent time and task management (prioritising)

    Location

    The company is based in Cosham near Portsmouth and only a short walk away from the picturesque Port Solent. Due to the nature and travel necessary with this role you will be home based (Midlands) but will be required to on occasion meet the wider sales team in the head office in Portsmouth.
