Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 Basic + Monthly Commission (Circa £60k OTE)

Our client, an award-winning Event Management and Talent Management Agency has a brand-new opportunity for a tenacious 'Business Development Manager’ to join their dynamic team in Richmond. With an impressive portfolio of both UK and global clients, this role will see you work with some of the biggest brands in the world.

We’re looking for an exceptional, new business-focused sales hunter to take their unrivalled event management solutions to the next level. This role will see you be part of our client’s journey in becoming the UK’s leading Live event management agency. With exciting growth plans for 2018, they’re a boutique agency that punches well above it’s weight, but pride themselves in their ability to be deliver first class and unique event experiences.

Reporting to the Sales Director, this role will see you take ownership of all new business across Event Management, Experiences and Incentive Travel.

As a Business Development Manager, specifically you will:

  • Proactively develop new accounts as well as maximizing opportunities within existing accounts
  • To research and target specific market segments through sales activities to deliver revenue, whilst penetrating existing clients for new contacts, business and revenue streams
  • To maintain contact with clients through face to face, telephone, written, direct mail activity and client events.
  • To deliver monthly revenue and activity reports as specified by the Director of Sales
  • Take ownership of new business revenues across a defined set of prospects
  • Taking responsibility for each sale, from lead generation through to close
  • The production of high quality documentation to support the sales cycle, including a numerical business case where applicable
  • The continual development of product, industry and competitor knowledge to ensure a 'value-add’ sales approach
  • Timely and accurate use of Salesforce.com

Ideally, you’ll have:

  • At least 3 years experience in a sales or business development role
  • Previous Corporate Hospitality or Event Management experience - desirable but not essential
  • You have an insatiable drive to succeed and obsessive about achieving results
  • You have excellent written skills and can write personable, persuasive and professional emails
  • You have a natural ability to persistently motivate yourself and others by being a great team player
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Strong IT skills
  • Show commercial awareness and are KPI driven
  • Capacity to multi-task and think on your feet
  • A degree from a good university or equivalent experience
  • A passion for delivering successful sales strategies and a creative flair for winning new business
  • 100% new business focus - Account Management skills desired
  • Dynamic, focused and with a clear will to succeed
  • Ability to present a business case numerically where required
  • Knowledge of Salesforce
