Role: Business Development Manager (Energy monitoring & management)

Location: High Wycombe

Salary: £30,000+ DOE + generous bonus structure

This Business Development Manager will be selling both to direct customers as well as via channel partners - such as energy brokers and FM consultancies. The Business Development Manager will have the ability to engage with Energy Managers - often users rather than buyers of this type of product, and your skill will be to influence those Energy Managers to present your product to the actual decision maker. Key Responsibilites:

  • Be the customer facing, first point of contact for all business enquiries
  • Scour media and other sources for potential leads and establish exploratory contact
  • Contact all lead enquiries from the website, social Media and other sources
  • Stay abreast of industry developments and connect with any potential sources of business
  • Work with the leadership team to handle new enquiries and convert existing enquiries
  • Attend industry and company events
  • Support the team in conversion activities such as pitch letters, client presentations and negotiations
  • Produce proposals and estimates, with input from finance and technical ops
  • Produce timely and informative reports around enquiry levels and conversion ratios

Key skills and experience:

  • Experience & evidence of success in new business sales in energy or energy related business
  • A curious nature and someone who looks for opportunities rather than sees problems
  • Outgoing personality, able to cold call when needed and accept rejection as part of the job
  • An individual motivated by success, achievement with a healthy fear of failure
  • An agenda setter, rather than a task manager
  • Graduate in a numerate subject desirable but not essential. Evidence of numeracy in GCSE’s otherwise required
