Business Development Executive Events Job London

Our client is looking for a Business Development Executive who will be responsible for pro-actively driving and developing new and existing business in order to maximise revenue opportunities in line with quarterly and yearly targets. The role will consist of strategically targeting clients and agencies through proactive approaches, combined with collating and researching information in line with the company’s growth strategy.
The position requires a dynamic and flexible candidate with a strategic and open approach to problem solving. Proficient presentation skills and an ability to anticipate and adapt to meet clients’ needs will be a key part of this role. A friendly, presentable and professional approach are required along with excellent attention to detail.
The role will report to the Head of Business Development

Key responsibilities include:

  • Identifying strategic opportunities through research and our prospects database
  • Maximise revenue to meet sales targets through pro-actives sales calls, new business appointments and calls, conversion, and market segmentation.
  • Building event industry relationships
  • Creating and presenting bespoke credentials and proposals to prospective clients and agencies with aim of securing multi-event, multi-year bookings
  • Supporting Head of Business Development with prospect meetings, presentations, RFPs and pitches
  • Networking at multiple industry events
  • Building your own pipeline of clients & prospects
  • Helping to host bespoke hospitality events at the venue with sales team colleagues
  • Negotiating rates and contracts with the assistance of Head of Business Development
  • Working with Head of Business Development to maximise return on space and management of the bookings matrix
  • Arranging site visits as required (conducted by the Head of Business Development/Account Managers) and communicating the companies unique attributes to clients
  • Reporting to head of Business Development once per week to present activity
  • Entering prospect details/leads accurately on to the venue’s CRM and booking system (Priava)
  • Building client relationships and managing accounts to drive repeat business organic growth from accounts

Key Skills & Experience
The successful candidate is likely to have at least 3 year’s event industry experience covering business development, account growth and sales

  • Demonstrable experience of achieving/exceeding sales targets
  • A track record of developing relationships and generating new business from event agencies, DMCs, creative production companies, direct clients and trade show organisers
  • Comfortable with being able to generate new business in excess of £750K pa
  • Ambitious, confident and looking for the next step up on the career ladder
  • Excellent interpersonal skills both face-to-face and over the phone
  • Demonstrates first class customer service
  • Sound influencing and negotiating skills

  • Numerate, with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, to deadlines and targets

£28 - £30K Base, £43 - £45K OTE + benefits which include retail discounts, discounted gym membership, free tickets to events, an interest-free season ticket loan, company social events, and contributory pension.
