The Role
As Business Development / Account Manager, you will be responsible for the delivery of the New Business 'to market' strategy and associated sales targets in line with the core values of the business with particular focus on the SME and Broker business lines. You will be primarily office based, attending off site client meetings as required, reporting to the Ikano Strategic Account Manager.      Key accountabilities include:
 
•    Sales & Account Management - identifying, winning and retaining new business
•    The design and delivery of the New Business 'to market' strategy, tailored to meet the specific requirements of the sectors
•    Deliver sustainable on-going growth in terms of both sales and profit through the SME and Broker business line
•    Work closely with the Account Lead to ensure that the new business strategy is delivering new retailers and sales growth across all business lines
•    To deliver new business leads in 'new' growth sectors in-line with the wider business strategy
•    Provide support to the Strategic Account Manager as required in progressing business opportunities from business case through to delivery
•    Actively network with key decision makers in identified sectors, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of the market allowing for a consultative approach to sales
•    Design & manage the outputs and KPIs from the lead generation strategy either through the out-bound calling or in-bound enquiry channels

Insight and Commercial Analysis
•    Oversight of the reporting requirements against the new business contact database, ensuring report content is relevant to target audience and is delivered accurately and within the agreed timeframes.
•    As market expert, be seen as the central point of contact, to collate and filter competitor and market intelligence ensuring output is appropriate and relevant for internal stakeholders
•    Input into key strategic development forums helping shape the future state of the department
 
Essential Skills
•    Proven background B2B selling environment
•    Experienced in proactively networking to establish and nurture new relationships
•    Excellent strategic planning skills, Strong presentation and communication skills
•    Strong numerical and analytics skills with the ability to interpret detailed numbers into actionable insight
•    Knowledge of retail environment, methodologies associated to process management, data mining and segmentation.
•    Proven background in managing and selling into senior level relationships
•    Advanced communication skills and the ability to influence key stakeholders across the business and at all levels.
