Against the backdrop of delivering the strategic phase of the Retail TOM and regulatory challenges, this role will provide data expertise through analysis and requirements capture across several key projects.
The successful candidate will help deliver high quality, well understood data to support the investment and reporting processes, and to meet the obligations set by the Regulator.
This will include working within a project environment for M&G’s significant change programme, along with extensive engagement across business units.
You will be responsible for the following tasks
- Expert in understanding M&G data sourcing, and how it flows in the organisation.
- Creating reliable and reusable documentation to share knowledge and promote best practice usage of data.
- To analyse DMT’s requirements to support the data in the organisation.
- Working with key stakeholders including Distribution/Retail, Reporting, Investment Operations and Technology teams.
- Work with the project teams and business areas to ensure effective communication plans are in place with regards to the reporting and escalation of the project status.
What we are looking for
You will have a genuine interest in expanding your knowledge and understanding the challenges and developments impacting operations and systems in the Asset Management industry functions Front, Middle and Back Office. A broad understanding of asset management is also a must, as well as strong knowledge of the investment process and full trade life cycle. You will be able to display broad market, instrument and industry knowledge including Equities, Fixed Income, OTC & ETD Derivatives, Money Market & FX. As well as this, you will have a good understanding of the data required to support functions within the investment process - financial and reference data (i.e. Securities, Position, Transaction, Fund, Benchmark, Credit Rating, Counterparty). Knowledge of Data Warehouses, BI Reporting tools, or Data Quality systems is highly important. You will also have knowledge of Portfolio, Order Management, Regulatory, and Compliance systems such as Blackrock Aladdin, Fidessa or ThinkFolio. Alongside concepts such as Database design, Logical Data Models, SQL, Data Science, Big Data, Digital technologies. Relevant qualifications such as IOC/IMC would be an advantage and an appreciation of Data Governance best practises in the Financial Services Industry
In terms of delivery you will have strong abilities in business and data analysis skills, delivering high quality, detailed and precise output which can be utilised and communicated to multiple stakeholders. It is essential for you to have experience in a business facing / stakeholder management role. As well as this, excellent organisational skills are a must, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliverables. You will be able to work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines. Knowledge and experience of a project life-cycle, including breaking requirements down into deliverables is also key to this position. You will be familiar with development methodologies and approaches, including Agile.
You will have excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both written and orally. You will also be capable of leading meetings, facilitating workshops and delivering presentations. Strong problem solving and analytical skills is essential for this position. It is important that you have the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships within the team and across the business. People management skills including the ability to motivate others, is also a must.
