We’re looking for a Business Analyst to undertake analysis for key corporate projects and initiatives; the principal requirement of this outward facing role is the creation of high quality analysis, As Is and To Be state modelling, capturing business requirements and producing detailed functional specifications.  Central to the role is to successfully deliver desired business outcomes, such that benefits can be realised, whilst customer and operational experiences are protected.

Working collaboratively with business representatives, colleagues in Change and the wider IT team, you will apply your BA knowledge/experience and your technical expertise to bridge the gap between the business and IT.

As a Business Analyst at The Coventry you will be responsible for:

  • Understanding the strategic intention of all change being undertaken, by working closely with CBS’s Architecture group

  • Facilitating and capturing functional and non-functional business requirements from a wide set of business stakeholders and working collaboratively with colleagues in IT to translate these into Functional Specifications or User Journeys/Stories with effective Acceptance Criteria

  • Building a deep understanding of the business domain being supported, thereby being able to articulate how change will impact from an end-to-end perspective

  • Working with members of the Design and Development teams to ensure that when a solution is delivered it meets the agreed business requirements whilst not compromising CBS’s architectural strategy

  • Ensuring detailed system design is in-line with the Solution Architect’s high level design, working with the Solutions Architect team to identify and escalate, where appropriate, any areas of incompatibility or risk

  • Validating business and technical solutions with key stakeholders ensuring that the requirements delivery is understood and the delivery of functionality is agreed by all parties.

In order to be considered for this role you will be able demonstrate the following:

  • Be an experienced Business Analyst with experience of working within a growing and/or changing organisation and across a range of different types of change programmes and  levels of complexity

  • Have experience conducting detailed analysis in line with best practice techniques and a range of methodologies. Experience of Agile would be advantageous.

  • Extensive experience of defining and documenting solutions and changes, producing comprehensive functional specifications backed up by structured analysis techniques and methodologies

  • Experience working on projects for IT Infrastructure and Systems upgrades/improvements would be advantageous

  • Demonstrable stakeholder management and leadership skills with experience managing resources assigned on a project by project basis

  • Be ISEB or BCS qualified (or equivalent)

  • Although not a requirement for this role, experience of regulatory change would be an advantage, e.g. Payments Services Directive.
