Business Analyst (Data-orientated)
Circa £35k DOE
Our client is looking to recruit a Business Analyst with a natural aptitude for data and an exceptional ability to take that data and turn it into reliable, high quality, timely and actionable information. The ideal candidate will be looking to enhance their career in the exciting world of Enterprise Information Management and enjoy the challenge of working with the wide variety of national and corporate cultures that are meet in our daily business.
As a Business Analyst, typically working at customer sites throughout UK and Europe and supported by in-house training opportunities, your mission will be to use your aptitude for data analysis to show clients how to practically resolve their business and system needs. In the role, you may need to tackle any of the typical analyst roles from business process analysis through UML and into UIdesign.
However, your main strength will be in data governance and/or data modelling and through your ability to gain the confidence of customers, demonstrating that you understand what makes their business tick.
As you progress in your role you will confidently participate in, manage and chair business and technical workshops. Using your professional integrity, you will be prepared to challenge the status quo to get to the core of customer requirements - even when customers may be reluctant to hear - which you will then turn into clear reports, plans and specifications using verbal, written and graphic communication to suit the preference of your audience.
To apply you must:
Have a minimum of 1+ years solid analysis experience
Have demonstrable experience of Business Analysis, Data Analysis, Data Governance and/or Data Modelling
Have a proficiency in UML methods and/or UI Design
Be educated to graduate level or a professional equivalent, in subjects which demonstrate a sound grasp of logic and reason
Be a good communicator, including written and verbal communication, and a good listener, with the ability to grasp complex business situations and represent them
Be able to facilitate workshops; to persuade and influence; to work with large groups of customers (of varying level of seniority from user to board level)
Be able to identify solutions to conflicting requirements that deliver to the business need
Be able to fit business processes into Commercial Off the Shelf products with minimal customisation
