About the role
This fantastic opportunity is based at the Army Foundation College and involves assisting in various types of administration, organisation and support to the Vocational Education wing of the AFC. Full training will be given in all aspects of the business to enable you to fulfil the role.
We are looking for an energetic and proactive person with good GCSE grades and excellent IT skills to join the team. In this role you will support internal customers with varying requirements and will need to do this with confidence, so excellent communication skills are a primary requirement.
About the team
The VQ Admin team is a dedicated, fun, supportive and knowledgeable group of people who support the teaching staff and the learners with the administration for the education subjects studied at the AFC. This includes registering the learners with the Awarding Organisation, ensuring reviews are carried out and applying for certification.
All exams taken at the college come through this department and preparation for exams and invigilation will be part of the role. We also add data to complex databases to draw down Government funding. You’ll report to the VQ Admin Team Leader but will also be tasked by the VQ Coordinator.
A day in the life of….
As Administrative Officer you will be assisting in providing support to the VQ office.
Good communication skills, accuracy and speed of response at all levels are imperative, as is effective communication between all the divisions in the company.
A proactive approach is expected accompanied with professionalism and company loyalty. A friendly attitude and willingness to support fellow team members are important aspects of the working environment. All staff are required to carry out any duties which may be deemed necessary

During the Apprenticeship, the post holder will work towards gaining an Intermediate Level 2 qualification in Business Administration , through work based learning.
As part of the training for the Intermediate Business Administration Apprenticeship framework, you'll complete:
Level 2 Diploma in Business Administration
Level 2 Certificate in Business Administration
Level 1 Functional Skills in English, mathematics and ICT
Who are we looking for?
You’ll have the following skills and qualities:
A flexible approach and ability to work under pressure
Good written and spoken communication skills
Good organisational skills
Willingness to work as part of a team
Commitment to accuracy of information/records and complying with all QA procedures
Equivalent of GCSE Maths and English Grade A-C
You don’t need to have any prior experience, but someone with a genuine interest in education, or the Armed Forces would enjoy working in this exciting and ever changing environment.
