Bus Drivers - London
£12.08 - £15.23 per hour (pay award pending), pension and overtime
Are you looking for a career change with a difference? Put your customer service skills to use meeting and greeting our customers in a dynamic, fast-paced environment on the streets of London, working as a bus driver for London’s largest bus operator.
We are introducing new routes from our garage in Morden Wharf (North Greenwich), starting in November so don’t miss out on this opportunity to join us as we grow even bigger, operating even more services in South and East London.
If you have held a full UK car driving licence for a minimum of 2 years, and have the skills and desire to provide a top quality service, a career as a bus driver could be for you. We will provide all the necessary training to gain the PCV licence required to become one of our growing number of bus drivers. As well as comprehensive paid training, we can offer an excellent pay and benefits package that includes earnings (after training) of £480 per week, guaranteed service related increases, concessionary travel on London’s transport network, contributory pension scheme, opportunities for overtime and genuine opportunities for career development.
If you already hold a PCV licence and have a good track record as bus driver, we are keen to hear from you. If you are currently working on TfL services with another London bus company we can offer higher starting rates based upon your service at your current London buscompany (see our website for details). For instance if you have done more than 5 years at your current company you will join us on £15.23 per hour with average weekly earnings of over £600 per week plus the opportunity to work overtime (paid at enhanced rates).
As buses run 364 days a year, you must be willing and able to work shifts (involving early starts and late finishes) that will include weekends and public/Bank Holidays as required. It’s a role that requires professional and personal commitment.
You should be able to demonstrate your numeracy and literacy and be able to effectively communicate with our customers and colleagues. Ideally you will already have experience in a customer facing role and be able to meet the medical requirements to hold a vocational driving licence.
