Building Maintenance Assistant

Our Facilities team at Envigo, Huntingdon is growing and we need reliable, hardworking, committed individuals to assist in the maintenance and repair of plant, equipment and undertake basic building fabric repairs whilst providing practical support to the facilities department.

What we need from you:

  • To develop and maintain good relationships with all staff and customers on both sites as required.
  • To ensure the company meets its regulatory requirements associated with the work being undertaken.
  • Effectively and regularly communicate with colleagues, customers and contractors.
  • Attend training courses and staff briefings as required.
  • Attend all college course dates where reasonable practicable meeting company requirements. Advise team leader if not able to attend course date and reason for non-attendance.
  • Gain suitable and sufficient qualifications to undertake the role of Maintenance Technician.
  • To follow instructions from team leaders and facilities management.
  • Ensure safe working systems and practices are maintained in accordance with company H&S policies and procedures.
  • Work as a member of a team and solo as required.
  • Assist other trades with the completion of installation work as and when required.
  • Observe safety regulations when carrying out work with regard to self and others.
  • Obtain permits as required.
  • Attend training courses and staff briefings as required.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties requested by facilities management.
  • Have the aptitude and can do attitude to see the work through to an acceptable standard.
  • Fully understand & implement health & safety practices used within the company & department
  • Complete all health & safety documentation prior to commencement of assigned task unless facilities management have permitted exclusion
  • Meet KPI requirements on booked hours & work completed
  • Effectively and regularly communicate with all customers.
  • Provide help, support and advice to internal customers

Previous Experience:

  • 3 or more GCSE’s grade A-E to include English, Mathematics and a Science subject
  • Health & Safety awareness, and is able to demonstrate compliance
  • Able to undertake general building fabric maintenance activities across the estate
  • Able to drive a forklift or site electric vehicle
