What it's like to work here

You'll be based on the Lanhydrock estate working closelywith other members of a small, friendly building team. You will also work onboth the North and South coasts in some of the most beautiful areas Cornwallhas to offer. In addition to the large Grade 1 listed buildings the NationalTrust also owns several farms, holiday cottages and residential houses that allrequire care and attention throughout the year. Your job role will be variedand interesting, often presenting unexpected challenges and giving you theopportunity to develop new skills.

What you'll be doing

Joining us as a Mason, you’ll provide a highly professional and practicalbuilding service to our historic mansions, houses and other buildings. You’lluse your practical, hands-on experience to ensure we can continue to conserveand maintain these beautiful places for future generations by providing thehighest standards of skills. You’ll undertake conservation repairs,ensuring that the correct materials and methods are used. You'll be familiarand competent with traditional methods of mason repairs and will be confident makingjudgments on what repairs are needed.

Who we're looking for

To besuccessful in this role you'll need to have;

  • Competency in the use of portable electric power tools
  • Good practical knowledge of own trade, and that of other trades
  • Good communication skills
  • Demonstrable consultation skills of listening, building trust and acting to deliver a high quality service
  • Excellent customer service skills
