One of leading landmarks is currently looking to recruit a building conservation and maintenance manager.
The main purpose of the role will be to manage all the building refurbishment, improvement and conservation projects.
The buildings have to be maintained to high standard to ensure that the fabric of the buildings is protected and allow the building to be presented to the visitor in a safe manner.

The role offers unique challenges of working within a historic building with the added bonus of working alongside a high number of visitors and having to factor in heritage considerations to present the building to an extremely high standard.
The ideal applicant will have experience of working in a historic building environment, and will have comprehensive knowledge of building legislation, of traditional building materials and their use.
A good all round experience of the building industry will also be required to work with and manage contractors.
Experience of producing specifications, schedules of work, contract management, CAD skills and operation of CAFM system would be an advantage.
Applicants must also be able to demonstrate good people skills and are able to prioritise maintenance issues, as working across many departments and with contractors is essential for success in this role.
It is a very busy environment with the constant need to present the building.
Projects have to be carefully programmed to achieve value of money while minimising the disruption to the visitors and commercial activity on site.
The maintenance and facilities team, who this role will be working as part of, operates a duty rota for out of hour's emergencies.
There is also be occasions when evenings working as well as some weekends and Bank HHhhHolidays is necessary
Whilst on duty, you will need to be able to respond to queries on electrical, mechanical, security and AV systems, so applicants would need to demonstrate an understanding of these.
It would also be an advantage to have dealt with landlord and tenant responsibilities.
Applicants will ideally be Chartered or have equivalent experience within the building industry.
