International insurance company with strong UK prescence is looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to join their team. Working with the Underwriting office based in Leeds the role will manage a panel of key partner brokers across Yorkshire and the north east.

The Company

·Our client is a global insurance company with a strong reputation in the UK market
·The role is based in the companies Leeds office working with the locally empowered underwriting team but your time will predominantly be spent in the field with brokers

Your role

·Working with a panel of Brokers across Yorkshire and north east your main focus will be in delivering growth through aquisition of new business as well as managing all aspects if the relationship
·Agree and implement growth strategies for your panel utilisng all internal resources and departments
·You will have a strong understanding of the insurance market and products so you are able to deliver a first class service to brokers and end clients
·Along with the local underwriting team you will be responsible for the growth and profitability of the account through retaining and winning new cases


·You will have experience in a similar business development role with established relationships with Yorkshire and north east brokers
·You will be a strategic thinker able to demonstrate your experience of succesfully growing a broker portfolio profitably
·You will be comfortable in dealing directly with corporate clients and brokers, delivering presentations and chairing meetings
·Strong product and industry knowledge is essential, ideally ACII qualification or work towards is preferred
