Job Title: Broadcast TOC Supervisor

Job Type: Permanent

Working Arrangement: Onsite in Central London

Salary: £35-45,000pa

Role Responsibilities

  • Supervise a TOC team and maintain high quality of service by mentoring the team, implementing efficient processes, communicating clearly and concisely, the rapid resolution of faults and deeply understand workflows with the objective of continually improving workflows
  • Respond quickly to technical issues by coordinating troubleshooting and playing a key role in the rectification efforts with internal and external stakeholders
  • Play a key role in 1st line fault diagnostics and handle the rectification; or escalate issues as necessary
  • Configure monitoring systems that emphasise efficiency and simplicity of the tools
  • Maintaining the TOC teams in-depth understanding of operational procedures and signal flow
  • Possess an understanding of the technical configuration of streaming environments
  • Study and understand high-level signal flow and equipment documentation
  • Ensure all documentation is correct and kept up to date
  • Have the ability to uphold standards under pressure while exhibiting excellent customer service skills
  • Collaborate with TOC staff, fellow supervisors, and customers in a professional manner to ensure a positive working environment
  • Make sure the team communications are clearly and concisely delivered (written and verbal), providing accurate descriptions of key events related to technical operation issues
  • Report into the Head of Operations

Skills Required

  • Prior Knowledge of the Broadcast environment, technically and from a service point of view
  • Understanding of ETR101290
  • Commercial experience with IP contribution as well as OTT streaming video workflows, this includes all points in the signal chain
  • The ability to troubleshoot along the signal chain and/or advise operators on resolution
  • A background of working in an operations role(s) in a live broadcast environment
  • Being able to open trouble tickets and activate incident management procedures by alerting internal and external teams and remain service owner till the time issue is resolved and incident report is generated with conclusion
  • Experience receiving and tracking maintenance notifications alongside co-ordinating internally and externally to conclude such maintenance to ensure that there is minimal impact on streaming services
  • Strong communication and good interpersonal skills
  • The ability to act as the decision maker and problem solver with a critical eye for diagnostic


Skills Desired

  • Experience working within live sports is a significant advantage
