British Sign Language Teaching Assistant

* Primary/Secondary Special School

* Based in Lambeth

* Part-Time or Full-Time

* £68-£80 a day depending on experience

Empowering Learning are currently recruiting for experienced Teaching Assistant that is trained in British Sign Language (BSL) level 1-3 qualified, to support Hearing Impairment pupils on a 1:1 basis within a school based in Lambeth. The successful candidate will be able to assist in improving pupils learning and development. The ideal applicant must have a minimum of a Level 1 in British Sign Language, however candidates with a higher level of qualification or have experience in using British Sign Language will also be considered. We are looking for dedicated and knowledgeable individuals who want to make a difference.

Job Responsibilities

* Supporting pupils with Hearing Impairment on a 1:1

* Supervising children in & out of the classroom

* Encourage and support the child learning

* Helping the teacher prepare for lessons and plan activities

Job Requirements

* Experience of working as a Learning Support Assistant

* Experience supporting children with Hearing Impairment

* Strong communication skills written and verbal

* Valid DBS registered with the online update service or be willing to apply for a new one

* Available 2-5 days a week

* Able to commit to 3-6 months
