The role of the Design Engineer will be to work closely with the design team and work up tailored solutions for integration to third party systems, energy saving strategy & operation and product development. The individual will be constantly looking for new innovation and ways of achieving engineering problems and looking to self-deliver certain functions that have been traditionally outsourced, for instance CHP operation and integration. There will be an amount of R&D as new solutions will need to be tested before deployment to ensure the offering is fit for purpose.
The individual will be responsible for product support when the site teams are deploying the technology and ensuring smooth delivery.
The role will be home based but will be expected to work from the London office and will also need to have an element of site attendance for customer meetings and deployment of the control systems.
Impact: The candidate will be responsible for timely delivery of individual and multiple projects/products and for the quality of the end product within the confines of the budgeted costs. They will also be commercially aware and be able to operate in a sometimes highly pressured environment.
Complexity: The role will be customer facing and brings all the usual aspects of managing relationships and project management
Qualifications or Required Experience: The candidate will be from a BMS/Automation background and will have management experience particularly in the field of HVAC. Ideally they will have a HND in engineering and will be competent in manufacturer’s equipment Trend, Siemens, Cylon or Priva.
