A respected provider of specialist/niche Lloyds syndicate is looking to appoint an Assistant Bloodstock / Livestock Underwriter due to growth across the London region.

Job Purpose Summary:
·To underwrite Bloodstock risks from which consistent and stable profits can be attained as set out in the Business Plan and in accordance with individual underwriting authority by cultivating relationships with brokers, clients and coverholders
·To assist underwriters by monitoring premium income, checking slips and updating bordereaux and preparing triangulations and other statistical analysis of business as required
·To assist with any projects as may be identified from time to time for which your involvement is requested

Key Duties:
·Processing and underwriting all risk of sport horse cover
·Research race records and pedigree of horses
·Accurate reporting of vets/ veterinary fees, injuries to horses, life-saving operations and embryo transfer
·Enter, value and review data on aggregation system

Risk Acceptance
·Accept risks on behalf of the managed syndicate in accordance with agreed account portfolio and the syndicate business plan
·Adheres to agreed underwriting authorities, and refers any unclear areas to the Class Underwriter/Chief Underwriting Officer
·Maintains profitable book of business in line with the business plan
·Negotiates rates & terms and conditions, balancing risk, compliance and commercial considerations
·Monitors underwriting loss ratios for own portfolio of risks

Risk Management
·Accountable for the effective management of owned risks or controls as detailed in the company's Risk Framework
·Work with manager to ensure that risks associated with own role are understood and managed
·Assist in identifying and implementing processes to control risks particularly with own role
·Responsible for reporting any existing or new risks, as well as significant control failings/weaknesses or events that may arise, to the Risk team or your manager

Compliance
·Maintain an understanding of and complies with all relevant FCA / PRA / Lloyd's regulatory requirements and other relevant regulatory requirements
·Maintain a clear understanding of the Health and Safety policies  Comply with all relevant company policies and procedures at all times
