Bioinformatician / Python Developer


I’m looking for a Bioinformatician / Python Developer to join a Scientific R&D company in Oxford. The Bioinformatician / Python Developer will be joining an established and growing company, working on truly worthwhile and rewarding projects. 

The Role


The Bioinformatician / Python Developer will be working a varied role which you will be able to carve out for yourself. As the Bioinformatician / Python Developer your tasks will include working closely with lab scientist to help them understand their sequencing data, building end-to-end reusable software tools using Python, and building robust automation software that runs in the cloud.

What’s Required?


We’re looking for a Bioinformatician / Python Developer with a strong background in Bioinformatics and biology, as the team currently is made up mainly of Software Engineers. However you will also need strong coding experience with Python, as programming is key to this role. 

  • Bioinformatics experience – either from research, education, or commercial work 
  • Coding experience with Python 
  • Experience with DNA and NGS
