The Role:

The ideal candidate will be joining an established team of Costs Lawyers/ Draftspersons with offices nationwide to assist and support billing process and recovery to the legal profession. You will have strong technical knowledge and experience of drafting bills. The company is looking for Billing Assistants with significant experience to 'hit the ground running'.

Main Responsibilities of the Role:

  • Report directly to Manager
  • Managing and processing files for external costs draftsmen to prepare detailed bills of costs
  • Processing of Legal Aid bills and ensuring files are sent to the Legal Aid Agency without delay
  • Processing of bills with enclosures to Supreme Court Costs Office
  • Assisting with legal aid payments on account
  • Assisting with payment of Invoices
  • Processing of bills post assessment and preparing final costs certificate
  • Processing bills payable by third parties
  • General administration of documents- filing, scanning and archiving
  • Liaising with experts

  • A good academic background with a willingness to learn and self-develop
  • Good communications skills to work effectively with all types of people
  • Good attention to detail
  • Excellent numerical skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work on own initiative and to tight deadlines
  • Excellent IT skills with ability to process information using relevant software (databases, spreadsheet packages).
  • Business acumen
