Job Title: Billing Assistant

Location: Haywards Heath

Salary: £14ph

Duration: Contract (3 to 6 months)

Hours: 10am to 3pm - Monday to Friday

We are delighted to be working alongside our client in their search for a temporary Billing Assistant to join their busy team in Haywards Heath. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has come from an accounts background within the Financial Services/Insurance industry.

Responsibilities

  • Dealing with highly confidential information and being able to abide by data storage and data protection legislation
  • To take complete control of the client commissions payment operation within the company. This involves the monthly calculation of the commission amounts using excel spreadsheets and excel programmes
  • Send out commission statements to clients by PDF, via email, and setting up the commission payments for authorisation using online banking
  • Liaising with clients via email and phone on all commission queries
  • Ability to work in more than one currency as commissions is calculated in multi currencies using exchange rates to convert commissions due between currencies
  • Effective communications between other departments by email and phone
  • To take complete control of the client invoicing function for the UAE on a daily basis. This involves raising invoices on a billing system, dealing with members and clients regarding policy and plan changes and working with excel spreadsheets and excel programmes to verify client data

Desired Skills

  • A very high degree of attention to detail and understanding of excel
  • Good email skills and ability to write emails to a professional level
  • Able to work in a multi-currency/worldwide environment
  • An understanding of the commission structures that exist within the insurance industry
  • Ability to work with tact and an able to deal with people in a calm and professional manner
  • Able to work within a Management Information System and understand and apply the rules specific to billing in the UAE. This will be a daily function and will run alongside the commissions function
  • High degree of attention to detail and the ability to deal with different currencies at the same time, particularly and most regularly USD
  • An understanding of dealing with highly confidential information and knowledge to allow you to abide by data storage and data protection legislation
  • Experience in the healthcare industry would be an advantage, but not essential
  • Immediate availability would be an advantage, but not essential
