A successful start-up who are tech driven and built their product, pricing models and tech stack from the ground up are looking for a talented BI Engineer with experience of Dbt, Snowflake (or AWS/GCP) and strong SQL to take over the analytics engineering and build data marts owning the business data modelling environment


This company is in their 5th year of trading and have already reached 60 people and are growing quickly. They received their series A this year which was £10.4 million and have grown well through Covid. Their CDO has an excellent reputation coming from well renowned companies previously and is nurturing a data centric approach going forward which fits well with their product/platform.


As a BI Engineer you would be responsible for :

  • Taking charge of the analytics engineering and being able to build data marts and own the business modelling environment
  • Specifically owning the data modelling and data mart side to the end to end BI process and working closely with a BI Analyst, the CDO and a lead Data Engineer.
  • Helping to enable the team to ingest more data from 3rd party sources and model it correctly in order to do more effective predictive customer analytics
  • Data warehousing in Snowflake as well as managing users.


A successful BI Engineer will have:

  • Production level Snowflake (or cloud) data warehousing
  • Excellent SQL coding ability as well as Dbt experience
  • Experience with an ETL tool such as Stitch and potentially experience doing both ETL and ELT using SQL and Dbt
  • Strong communication skills to work with non technical stakeholders and an excellent understanding of the commercial value of their work and the monetisation of data.
