Description

Leading Housing Association / Not for Profit require a BI Developer / Performance Analyst to work in their expanding Performance and Insights Team. You will deliver a high quality information provision and analysis service to support and underpin performance monitoring, improve business outcomes and ensure the organisation can meet its strategic and operational objectives.

You will develop and deliver accurate and timely data extraction (SSIS / ETL) and analysis (SQL / Power BI), and produce reports within required deadlines. You will also support the Programme Managers of major projects in establishing future KPIs associated with the introduction and improvement of new systems and processes, will play a supporting role in quantifying benefits as part of the business case process, and support data preparation activity ahead of any data migration exercises.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake ETL / SSIS (or similar) exercises to take data from systems and populate a Data Warehouse. This will be done a data governed model that uses the core principles of the data strategy. All data modelling undertaken needs to be consistent and timely to ensure that information is fit for purpose.
  • Work with the business to understand each area's reporting requirements and build a data model that meets them, and also intersects the requirements of the organisation as a whole.
  • Analysis and interpretation of data and statistical models, and preparation of written reports and dashboards summarising results, across a range of business activities and performance reporting.
  • Provision of advice and guidance on analyses to key stakeholders.
  • Contribution to the ongoing development of information systems enabling efficient and intelligent access to performance information.
  • Support business areas through tailoring reporting solutions and advice to help meet their business requirements.
  • Coach on the analysis and interpretation of the information and how to use it to guide decision making, advising on issues of data standards and quality as necessary.
  • Create and develop good working relationships with senior and middle managers in the across the organisation and with external stakeholders.
  • Develop, maintain and make accessible documentation of procedures and processes carried out by the Performance Team to support data accreditation and facilitate team working.
  • To participate in the regular and routine reporting as part of the Balance Scorecard Framework for internal and external requirements, within deadlines and to the organisational standard.
  • To assist in the design, development and administration of new Information Systems and reports.
  • To assist in the development of performance reporting from the implementation of new systems delivered through the Major Change Portfolio.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Analytical experience preferably in medium to large organisation, ideally (but not essential)
  • Experience of the application of data extraction and analysis (ETL / SSIS / SQL / Power BI or similar)
  • Previous knowledge and experience of housing, finance, people and care management systems and database management (desirable but not essential)
  • Proven experience of producing indicators and automated reporting in line with operational and business requirements.
  • Presenting data and/or data models to management and large audiences
  • System Analysis skills across Access, Excel, Business Objects, SQL, Dynamics (or similar ERP platforms)
  • Experience of working in an organisation with an established Data Governance Framework
  • Specialist knowledge and experience of statistical /analytical/techniques and procedures.
  • Highly computer literate, with advanced experience of Microsoft Products: Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Highly skilled user of Business Information tools including ETL and Visualisation
  • Experience of working with a Data Warehouse Platform
  • Accomplished with Microsoft Project and Visio (Desirable)
