BI Business Analyst | Dunstable | Permanent

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced BI Business Analyst to join our strategic BI Analytics programme within Whitbread.  You will work closely with senior stakeholders, technology developers and consultants to deliver the product backlog of changes to be made by a 3rd party using an agile delivery method.  This includes deployment of a new enterprise data warehouse, reporting and analytics tools.

What you will be doing:

  • Gathering requirements from business stakeholders and facilitating reporting workshops
  • Translating requirements into deliverables (dashboards, reports, underlying metrics and calculations and specifying the data granularity)
  • Communicating with the technical resources on the project in order to assist with converting the requirements into usable code
  • Producing high quality documentation and displaying good written and verbal communication skills
  • Acting as a knowledgebase on existing metrics, data structures and reports
  • Creating test scenarios and facilitating test plans
  • Assist in Business Change Management
  • Undertaking impact analysis, assessing change readiness and identifying key stakeholders
  • Supporting training efforts
  • Dealing with resistance to change in the user community and project team

What are we looking for:

  • A working knowledge of BI/ DW principles and applying them in the data validation phases
  • An understanding of both relational and dimensional modelling techniques and experience of source to target mapping
  • Solid prior BI Business Analyst experience
  • Comfortable with requirements gathering and GAP analysis
  • Comfortable questioning proposed 'best fit' solutions, and exploring alternatives 
  • Analytical thought – you are comfortable analysing processes and situations to understand the essential drivers
  • UML and Agile modelling to business process mapping
  • Knowledge of Tableau, PowerBI or similar visualisation tools
  • MS Office & MS Visio
  • Knowledge of MS Azure cloud computing platform and services would be advantageous
  • Understanding of SQL, Integration and ETL technologies
