I have been engaged by one of the UK's leading Retailers to support in the recruitment of a number of BI Analysts to be part of a new business intelligence team.
The role of the BI governance Analyst will be to support the BI Manager to conduct governance activities for the BI system. You will essentially be a subject matter expert and act as the main point of contact for any system issues, running checks, ensuring data integrity and sponsoring and driving forward the best ways of working across the business.
Whilst it's important that you possess the right technical experience / knowledge it is as equally important that you are a confident communicator and able to reach out to the wider business.
Supporting the BI manager to ensure that the governance framework is maintained and executed
Performing ongoing analysis and evaluation of existing processes with the objective of driving continuous data quality improvements and proper usage of the data and system
Developing dashboards and reporting requirements as required to deliver against requirements defined by the business customers
Supporting the end users for any data/tool related questions
Keeping data/system governance policies, processes and documentation up to date
Address technical data issues for instance requiring Change requests for Source system functionality or data patches to correct data issues in BI system
For this you will need to have a good working knowledge of Microsoft SQL & SQL server DB objects (Tables, Views, stored procedures etc.) and be able to demonstrate that using these skills can support an existing process and make changes as necessary to maintain a viable and accurate tool.
You will understand how to use SAP Business Objects Web Intelligence as a must and have the relevant knowledge to support existing reports, amend reports as requested and create new reports per business requirements. A basic understanding of master data governance and data preparation is essential alongside very strong data analytic skills.
Retail experience is not essential but the ability to work across an international organisation and be comfortable with the different complexities of detail and data that involves (including managing data across different currencies and communicating to a business across different countries).
A competitive salary will be on offer for the successful candidate!
