My client is a family run, privately owned Contractor with a number of offices across the UK and have been in existence for over 100 years. The Business as a group, are currently enjoying a turnover of nearly £200m. The business has progressed quickly over the years and now have a strong reputation across the UK as one of the most successful regional contractors. As a business whole, they are looking to upskill staff and have done so in the last 18 months. This is to combat their new business model of targeting larger projects in excess of £10m.

Overview:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining and enhances work processes that control risk, add value but allow judgement and freedom of movement to staff.

The ideal candidate will report directly into the Managing Director but will be accountable to the Board and the Regional Directors for the performance of systems in the business.

Most of their time on site sharing best practice, supporting and developing delivery teams and improving operational performance.

Previously have been part of the operational delivery of construction teams to ensure complete credibility on site, working with Project Teams to enhance and improve best practice.

Must have excellent Health & Safety experience. Driving excellent production and quality standards on site.

The business has a number of regional offices in the Midlands & the southern region and this person will cover all of the regional offices, but in control of their diary and be able to manage it accordingly. Dependant on where you live, you can base yourself out of any regional office.

Essentially, we are looking for someone who may be a former Project Manager / Director / Design Manager etc. someone who has experience on a building site who holds exceptional health & safety standards. You will be helping support each Regional team and helping them improve. Ensuring compliance with legislation and recommending improvement. You will be instrumental in leading, sharing and implementing new ideas across the greater business. Complies lessons learnt, ideas and ensure they are actioned.

Able to identify issues on site and help the teams find an appropriate solution.

Developing systems that improves how the business operates. Carrying out audits themselves, within the systems team and ensuring excellent audits are carried out by Regional Champions.

Building morale, collects ideas and ensures that they are implemented across the business.
