Behaviour Learning Support Assistant

* Secondary Pupil Referral Unit

* Based in Lewisham

* Full-time

* Daily pay £70 - £85 depending on experience

Empowering learning are currently recruiting for a Behaviour Learning Support Assistant to work in a Pupil Referral Unit based in Lewisham. The role is a full time, for 6-weeks initially starting Immediately, with the potential to becoming a permanent position for the right candidate. We are looking for people who have experience of working in a pupil referral unit ideally or experience of working with children with challenging behaviour in an SEND setting will also be considered. The school offers a range of services from short term respite provision to longer term education for students in Key Stage 4 & 5 for whom mainstream school is no longer able to meet their needs.

Job Responsibilities

* Supporting pupils with challenging behaviour

* Ability to engage and support pupils

* Supervising & Monitoring pupils behaviour

* Ability to defuse challenging situations

Job Requirements

* Experience of working with children or young adults with challenging behaviour

* Able to stay calm and de-escalate challenging Behaviour

* Team Teach Trained is disable but not essential

* Experience of working as Mentor

* Valid DBS registered with the online update service or be willing to apply for a new one

* Available 5 days a week and able to commit immediately
