The role of the Advanced Clinical Nurse Specialist within the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre is that of a highly experienced Clinical Nurse responsible for providing direct advanced clinical care and supportYou will use clinical expertise, leadership and management skills to ensure co-ordination of the care of patients with lung cancer, providing a seamless service for patients and their families. You will, independently utilise a broad range of advanced knowledge, skills and theory in the initial and ongoing management of clinical and supportive needs of patients from the day of diagnosis. The role will be key in providing a link between outpatient, inpatient wards and key within the multi disciplinary team. A fundamental part of the Advanced Clinical Nurse Specialist is to be a first point of contact in providing regular support and follow up to both patients and their families. It is essential you are a Registered Adult Nurse with substantial post registration experience, and have significant experience in a cancer nursing role with knowledge of the care and management of patients with lung cancer. The hours of this post are worked Monday to Friday 9-5, but shifts may alter to suit service needs. This post requires membership of Disclosure Scotland's PVG Scheme.
