We require an enthusiastic and self motivated
individual who has the ability to work flexibly with a range of colleagues and
partners to create opportunities for health improvement across the city. 
You will provide specialist food and health knowledge and
information to enable partners and communities to develop food and health
improvement programmes/initiatives across the City. 

The post holder will work as part of the Aberdeen
Health and Social Care Partnership’s public health and wellbeing team in
supporting, advocating and creating environments that promotes health and
wellbeing. Core to this post will be to co-ordinate and deliver actions around
the Scottish Governments ‘A Healthier Futures – Scotland diet and healthy
weight delivery plan’ and NHS Grampian’s local plan ‘A healthier
and more active future for the North East of Scotland’.

Candidates should have a relevant undergraduate degree and ideally have a
postgraduate qualification in public health or health promotion. You should
also have experience of working in the community (preferable around food) and
be able to demonstrate effective skills in communication, partnership working,
project development and evaluation. Evidence of specialist knowledge in health
improvement and understanding of the principles and purpose of community
development approaches to health and wellbeing is also required.
