If you are an outstanding teacher, but don’t want to be tied to a rota, being a Bank Teacher could be ideal. Shifts are offered to Bank Teachers when they are available, from which you can choose to work.
Cygnet currently has Bank Teacher vacancies at both its Sheffield and Bury hospitals.
Phoenix School of Therapeutic Education is the education provision within Cygnet Hospital Sheffield, and Excel and Exceed Centre is the education provision within Cygnet Hospital Bury.
Our aim is to ensure students are successful following discharge from the hospital. High expectations of what students can achieve, effective communications with schools and good quality teaching ensure that students continue making academic progress during their stay.
Phoenix School of Therapeutic Education (Sheffield) and Excel and Exceed Centre (Bury) would like to appoint outstanding Bank Teachers who can inspire/motivate students, effectively personalise work and contribute to a consistent, positive environment. We are flexible around subject specialisms but the ability to teach more than one subject would be an advantage.
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching on a small group basis, designing and implementing a learning programme for each student, establishing coherent academic plans, recording achievement and liaising with other teachers to plan and organise teaching. Providing evidence of student progress is an important element of the role. Additional duties include attending multidisciplinary meetings and progress report writing.
For the right individual this will be a unique and rewarding position within a forward thinking department, and an opportunity to work within a specialist field. We also offer a range of CPD opportunities.
